Christmas shopping at the Hospital

submitted by Jean Gallant

Did you know that the Gift Shop at the Kemptville District Hospital is a great place to buy gifts or even a special treat for yourself and that in doing so, you are also giving to the ongoing support of the Hospital?  And as an added bonus, you won’t pay sales tax, as the Gift and Coffee shops are run by volunteers of the hospital Auxiliary.

When you walk into the Shop, you will see lovely new fall and winter clothing including sweaters, dresses, pants, and scarves, as well as beautiful accessories for your home. Browsing the shelves further, you’ll come across jewellery in all sorts of the most popular designs, hats, purses, gloves, umbrellas and many more items displayed all around the store.

The Gift Shop also boasts our ever popular ‘Second Hand Rose’ section featuring an always changing assortment of donated items ranging from jewellery to china, puzzles and many unique items, all in excellent condition and at extremely low prices. The items move fast so there is usually something new to see.

There is also a wide assortment of books that have been donated. They are in almost new condition and here again, turnover is frequent with the newer titles going fast, as the price is only $1.00 per book.  We also have children’s books in like-new condition, for 50 cents each.

While you’re browsing and checking gifts off your Christmas list, you can also enjoy a lovely cup of coffee – there are 15 different blends from mocha to cappuccino to French vanilla and everything in between.  Or if you’re hungry, there are sandwiches, soups, and many snack items as well as cozy tables and chairs where you can sit and take a break.

So come and check out the Gift Shop at the Kemptville District Hospital. You’ll find gifts at great prices, no tax, and the proceeds all go to support the Hospital. As a bonus, you’ll get a friendly smile from our wonderful volunteers!  Come and say hi!
