Members of the Grenville County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a person in relation to a fraud.
Officers received the report in March 2023 and investigated fraudulent cheques of approximately $1,100 sent in exchange for items the victim had been selling online.
On October 11, 2023, a 25-year-old from Niagara, was charged with the following offences:
– fraud under $5,000, and
– possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
The accused was released from custody and is to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville on November 10, 2023.
