Public washrooms are now open in Merrickville. The Village announced last week that the public washrooms, located at the parking lot on Wellington W., near St. Lawrence Street, and the rink house on Main Street W. are available for public use from 10am-6pm daily, including holidays.

The Village is asking that only one person or family group use the washrooms at a time. Washroom users must also practice social distancing, wear a face mask, and wash their hands thoroughly. The bathrooms will be cleaned a minimum of three times daily while the washrooms are open.

“The Village of Merrickville-Wolford accepts no responsibility for any loss, damage, or personal injuries, however sustained,” it says on the Village Facebook page. “Use at own risk.”

Merrickville and District Chamber of Commerce President, Yves Grandmaitre, says he is very happy to see the Municipality responding to the need for washrooms in the village. “It’s nice to see the Village stepping up,” he says.
