This is one of the oldest houses in the region. Built, possibly, as early as 1800, it was the first home of William Merrick and his family, and later owned by Aaron and Terrance Merrick. It is believed to have been a tavern at one time, located across from Merrickville’s industrial centre, it would have been the perfect spot for such a facility.
