To celebrate the arrival of spring and the start of the gardening season, we would like to invite you to join us for our first Seedy Saturday on April 30, 9 am to 12 noon, in support of the Merrickville Seed Library.

A fun-filled morning is planned with something for everyone, including a seed and seedling swap, hands-on activities for the children, and lots of advice on getting your garden started. Local experts will cover seed starting basics and be available to answer questions on best practices for establishing and maintaining a healthy garden.

This is an ideal opportunity for first time gardeners to get their feet wet and for more experienced growers to share seeds, plants, and insights. All activities are free to the public and will be held outside weather permitting. We look forward to seeing you all there!

For more information, visit the Merrickville Library website. And check out the Merrickville Seed Library, which is now open for its second year. The library is sustained through seed donated by local gardeners, along with small monetary contributions to buy extra supplies. Seed packets are free to borrow for local residents.

The Seed Library is a joint project of Sustainable Merrickvile-Wolford and Merrickville Library. We would also like to thank the Merrickville Lions Club for providing “seed money” for our first two years.
