There will be an all-candidates meeting in the North Grenville Municipal Centre on Thursday, May 31, sponsored by the North Grenville Times. With the provincial election on June 7, the meeting will be an opportunity for residents of the area to hear from, and question, the candidates in the riding of Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes.
As of this week, the declared candidates in the riding are incumbent PC Candidate Steve Clark, Liberal David Henderson, the current Mayor of Brockville, and Libertarian Candidate Bill Buckley. No Green Party candidate has been named as of yet, but one is expected to be announced soon.
The meeting on May 31 is open to everyone, and will run from 7.30 until 9 pm. Details of the format are being arranged with the candidates, and there will be further information published in the Times as these matters are finalised. It is hoped to hold a similar meeting before the municipal election on October 22.
