The second annual Babin Inspirational Event was held at the NGPL on Saturday, April 29, 2023. The Friends of North Grenville Public Library and guests listened to the lively panel discussion with four local authors: Barbara Fradkin, Mary Jane Maffini, Paul Sharp and Mark Van Dusen. They entertained those present by recounting their journeys as published authors. All were avid child readers who eventually became hard-working writers. Other experiences they shared in common were the challenges of staying focused on task, marketing books and surviving on the mea gre print royalties paid in Canada.
Their perseverance was truly inspirational.
After the panel discussion concluded, everyone chatted while enjoying an English Tea of delicious assorted sandwiches and sweets, tea and coffee. Authors took this opportunity to sell their books.
Compliments were paid to the organizers by the audience and the participating authors. We are looking forward to the next annual inspirational event in 2024. Artists were featured last year, writers were featured this year, so who will be featured next year? Stay tuned for the answer next spring!
