Some of items seized in the raid in Kemptville and Manotick

As reported in the Times last week, members of the East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) assisted by OPP Tactical Rescue Unit (TRU), East Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) and OPP Canine Unit, executed a search warrant on March 3, 2022 in Kemptville and Manotick, which led to the arrest of three individuals and resulted in the seizure of drugs, cash and items typically associated with drug trafficking. The OPP Provincial Asset Forfeiture Unit is also assisting with this investigation.

The seizure resulted in a quantity of suspected cocaine and oxycodone, with an estimated street value of over $5,500.

A male, aged 35, from Kemptville, was charged with: possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine CDSA 5(2); Trafficking in Schedule I Substance – Cocaine CDSA 5(1); and Possession of Proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000 – in Canada CC 354(1)(a).

A female, aged 30, from Kemptville, was charged with: possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine CDSA 5(2); Possession of Proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000 – in Canada CC 354(1)(a).

The third person arrested was a male, aged 23, from Manotick, was charged with: possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine CDSA 5(2); and Possession of Proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000 – in Canada CC 354(1)(a)

All three accused are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Ottawa on April 12, 2022.
