The owners of Geronimo Coffee House at 146 Prescott Street have put the finishing touch on making the coffee shop their own. The shop is now called Bubba & Bug’s Coffee Bar, named for the pet names owners Scott Godwin and Luc Vincent have for each other. The new pink and white logo on the window (which now matches their bright pink door) was designed by a friend of Scott’s, graphic designer Dominic Willsher, and brought to life by Classic Graphics in Kemptville.

Scott says as soon as the logo went up, the coffee shop instantly felt like home. The pair moved to Kemptville from Toronto in March, and have been running the shop with the help of Scott’s mother, Maggie Birnie (of Maggie’s Shortbreads) since April 24, when they opened in the midst of the pandemic. Since then, they have become known as the place in downtown Kemptville for fresh coffee, delicious treats, and a great time.

Friday was their first day operating as Bubba and Bugs Coffee Bar, and they had the shop decked out in pink balloons and flowers, with cake from Grahame’s Bakery. They also unveiled a new locally-made coffee bar sign in the window, and Bubba and Bugs mugs and toques. Luc said they were very busy on Friday, with lots of people coming in to offer their congratulations and express their delight about the new name and logo. “This has been a whirlwind, and it hasn’t always been graceful, but neither are we,” Scott wrote on Facebook. “We are thankful to still be standing and can’t wait to see what the future here has in store for us.”
