In the July 19 edition of the North Grenville Times, we stated that the grand opening of the dog park would take place on Sunday, September 24. Due to scheduling conflicts with some performers, we have re-scheduled the event to Sunday, September 17. Although planning for the big event is ongoing, I can share some of the scheduled events with you. The day will kick off with a parade of dogs and owners, led by the Kemptville Pipes and Drums Band. Once at the park, there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony, followed by a barbecue with live music and several dog demonstrations. An event would not be complete without a cake to celebrate this festive occasion. You don’t need to own a dog to attend! All dog lovers are welcome.
I would also like to thank our newest sponsor in the Yorkie Division, Samantha Rivet-Stevenson – Financial Advisor at RBC.
Opportunities still exist to sponsor items for the dog park, such as a permanent gazebo, trees and benches, to name just a few. The money from sponsorships has been critical to the development of the dog park and will be required for park upgrades and ongoing maintenance. Donations are always welcome!
