Municipal Update for North Grenville Residents regarding COVID-19

The Municipality of North Grenville held an Emergency Management meeting today to review and update its precautions regarding COVID-19.

The Municipality remains operational to provide essential services and assistance to residents by appointment only.

The March 17, 2020 North Grenville Municipal Council meeting will proceed without presentations or delegations. Residents are encouraged to watch the meeting online via our website.

If a resident would like to ask a question pertaining to matters addressed in the agenda, send an e-mail to cpominville@northgrenville.on.ca. These questions will be addressed in real time during the question period. Our goal is to give members of the community the opportunity to participate online. We thank you for your cooperation.

Municipal payments:

Residents are encouraged to pay bills, permits and dog licenses online.

Property Tax:

The deadline remains March 31st, however leniency will be granted for penalties and interest on late payments until the end of April. The schedule for penalties and interest will resume to normal in May.

Planning Applications:

Planning applications for zoning amendments, minor variances, severances, official plan amendments and site plan approval are available online on the Municipality’s website.
Planning applications may be filed via email at planningappsubmit@northgrenville.on.ca or hard copies can be dropped off at the Municipal Office at 285 County Road 44, Kemptville.

Planning staff are available by appointment only by contacting amartin@northgrenville.on.ca.

Building Permit Applications:

Building Permit application forms are available online on the Municipality’s website.

Building Permit applications may be filed via email at buildingappsubmit@northgrenville.on.ca or hard copies can be dropped off at the Municipal Office at 285 County Road 44, Kemptville.

Building Division staff are available by appointment only by contacting eharris@northgrenville.on.ca.

Payment for Building and Planning application fees can be made by cheque dropped directly into our mail box outside the Municipal Office building at 285 County Road 44, or they can be submitted by regular mail.

Building Inspections:

Requests for building permit inspections will continue to be received by e-mail at eharris@northgrenville.on.ca or by voice mail at 613-258-9569 ext. 130. During on-site inspections, our inspections will maintain a social distancing separation of one metre from all other persons.

The site copy of the building permit and the redlined site drawings will be delivered to the site by the inspector during the first inspection or the applicant can print copies out for themselves.

The Municipality will continue to respond to the latest developments around COVID-19, and will keep residents informed and updated as the situation evolves.
