Michael Barrett, Member of Parliament for Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes, invites community input on the recent proposal from the Federal Electoral Boundaries Commission for Ontario on boundary changes for the electoral district of Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes.
“The community’s input is incredibly important to me and helps inform how I can best serve constituents and their priorities. I encourage residents to submit their feedback on the proposed federal boundary changes online, or through my constituency office. Since our community is joined by many ties that include history, geography, agriculture, industry, shared services, as well as local and federal partnerships, every feedback and submission we receive will help ensure each voice is represented in my presentation to the upcoming public hearing,” said MP Barrett.
In order to view or participate in the upcoming hearing, residents need to have registered before September 26, 2022. The public hearing participation form can be completed online with the Federal Electoral Boundaries Commission for Ontario.
A virtual hearing has been scheduled on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at 6:30pm for residents in eastern Ontario, Ottawa, and northern Ontario and a link will be provided to registered participants.

Riding sizes need to be determined by an arms-length agency, not by politicians or the public.
Hard to leave input on possible changes when I don’t know why these changes are proposed. Did I miss it in the acritical?
Brian, this link explains why it’s happening. It’s basically because of population changes. There’s also a date for virtual public hearings.
