Kemptville Youth Centre

The Kemptville Youth Centre [KYC] will be filled with fun, jokes and jailbirds once again on Friday March 31, between 12 p.m. and 8 p.m. for the 5th Annual Jail and Bail. Many local celebrities, store owners and our own volunteers will be joining KYC youth, staff and others to raise funds for local programs like drop-in times, swimming programs, camping trips, field trips and sports nights.

We already have jailbirds lined up and ready to be thrown behind bars after their action packed 10-minute trials at the Kemptville Youth Centre. People such as Dermid O’Farrell and Daren Givoque from O’Farrell Financial, Kathryn Pentland-Bruck of Furrific Dog Grooming, Pierrot Persutti from the Oxford Thrift Shoppe, Kemptville Youth Volunteers Jeff Goodman and Ryan Hodgin, past KYC staff Alyssa Sands, Britney Laviotte and Brittany Smith, Boushel’s Snow Plowing Greg Boushel, Les Voakes and even current KYC Programs Coordinator Bridget Manahan and Operations Manager Pat Henderson along with many more to come!

Some of the jailbirds are still debating on their charges, looking for the best one. Included this year is: being put in jail for being too smart, corporate extortion, losing to Mario Kart too much and even for not learning their lesson!

Kathryn Pentland-Bruck is being charged with “Being too Furrific”, and who can blame her? So many are getting enjoyment from the play on words for her charge.

KYC would like to thank the sponsors already lined up for this years’ event, including CSE Consulting, The Law Office of Connie Lamble, Patterson Hadden and Brown Insurance, and Pursuit of Happiness. There are more opportunities for sponsorship, so, if you can’t participate and still want to be a part of this great fundraising event, make sure you get in touch with us soon.

There is still time to become a jailbird, a sponsor, or to donate to help your favorite jailbird stay out of jail. Go to to find your favourite jailbird, read up on their charge, and read the funny comments left by their friends. KYC will be posting the times that our jailbirds will be answering to the judge on The Kemptville Youth Centre’s Facebook page and the page. Join them for an afternoon of fun and laughs.

The Kemptville Youth Centre doesn’t receive any regular funding from any level of government and is dependent on events like Jail and Bail to raise necessary funds to keep their space open and programs running.
