The number of confirmed cases in UCLG East (NG, Merrickville-Wolford, Augusta, and Edwardsburgh-Cardinal) has risen yet again. On September 29, there were 6 confirmed cases in the area, but by October 2, that number had risen to 10. These were all community-based cases, with none reported in long-term care or retirement facilities. The number of cases in UCLG East is by far the highest in any of the five areas within the Leeds Granville and Lanark District Health Unit. One area has a single case, two have two cases each, and UCLG Central, including Brockville, Prescott and surrounding areas, has no active case as of October 2.

The Health Unit reports that, to date, there has been 389 cases, 15 of which are active, 322 of which have recovered, and 52 of which have been fatal.

Holy Cross school in Kemptville remains the only school in all of the four school boards that has experienced confirmed cases. The Health Unit’s policy is not to identify individuals by name, nor will provide details on which grades were affected. “We kindly ask that if you know details to refrain from posting these publicly; be kind and resist the temptation to speculate or share rumours. We all deserve to have our personal health information protected.”
