Letter to the editor – thank you

Dear Editor,

Earlier this week, I went to Starbucks for an afternoon coffee and muffin. As I was about to leave, a man approached me and asked me if I was the owner of the grey Jetta in the parking lot. I asked, “Why, am I blocking someone from leaving?” “No,” he said, “You have a large bulge in your front driver side tire that should be looked at.” I thanked him and went out to check the tire. Sure enough, the bulge was there – the size of an egg. The man had also left a note on the windshield.

What can I say? Someone noticed what could have been a disastrous problem and took the time to let a stranger know about it. I replaced the tire shortly after.

Thanks to the kindness of a stranger, my world was safer. Bless you for thinking of others.

Sincerely,
Thomas Greene

  1. I just wanted to comment on your article”The End of Summer” by Pster Nichol. I didnt know Peter personally, just knew that he was Barb Nichols’ husband and Batb taught my daughters at Oxford-on-Rideau school. I kept abreast of this gentleman’s music and life by reading articles in the newspaper. I really enjoyed reading this article. The Giving Garden has been our way to celebrate this gentleman ‘ contributions and we are always ready each Spring to contribute tomato and veggie plants for this special garden from our greenhouses.

Thankyou for your always interesting and inspiring articles.
