Kemptville Pride has announced that they will be taking over Rainbow Union of Dundas and Grenville. Rainbow Union is a grassroots not-for-profit organization for LGBTQ2+ families living in the Dundas and Grenville regions, which works to establish safe spaces, and promote inclusivity and education in the community at large. This expansion will be under the leadership of Meagan Cumming, and administered by Tina Ouelette.
Kemptville Pride’s fundraising efforts have raised close to $8,000. They state that “these funds will be used to ensure our 2022 Pride Parade is an amazing celebration of diversity and inclusion in our community, as well as help us gain the training and knowledge we need to continue to educate, advocate, and communicate with our community. Kemptville stepped up in a way that we could never have imagined, and for that we are grateful!”
Kemptville Pride is working on developing “a strategic plan that will help shape our organization and our place in Kemptville for years to come.” And while, “we have reached out to many of you in the community for your input, your ideas and for your expertise”, they are still looking for public input.
