The snow has gone and the days are getting warmer. Is a bit of spring cleaning on your to-do list? If so, please keep Hey Day in mind for those items you no longer use or need.
Organized and staffed by volunteers from the Kemptville Hospital Auxiliary and many members of our community, Hey Day is a huge indoor garage sale and key fundraiser for the Kemptville District Hospital that takes place at the North Grenville Municipal Centre on:
– Friday June 9, from 6pm to 9pm
– Saturday June 10, from 9am to 1pm.
Hoping to encourage lots of donations to this great sale, here are some spring cleaning tips:
– Start by going through closets, starting with the ones that are most in need of a cleanout. Getting the hardest chore done first provides encouragement to keep going.
– Gather clothing, shoes, purses, children’s clothes & toys and other items you no longer wear or need. Are they in good shape and clean? Set them aside to await the Hey Day Donation Days.
– Give towels and linens a fresh scent by adding ½ cup of baking soda to the rinse cycle. There’s a linens section at Hey Day for any items you no longer need.
– Don’t be scared of the kitchen – take a rainy morning and clear out cupboards and drawers. Set aside any unneeded cups, dishes, pots, cutlery, small appliances, etc. to donate to Hey Day.
– How about the garage? As you’re sorting through all the items in there, remember the ‘Outdoors’ section at Hey Day for bikes, lawn furniture, toys, and gardening tools.
– Finally, gather everything together and bring them to the N.G Municipal Centre on one of the two Donation Days:
– Wednesday June 7 from 1pm to 7pm
– Thursday June 8 from 9am to 8pm
