This past Sunday, Norma Fisher reached the respectable age of 99 and she was celebrated in style by her friends and neighbours. A surprise drive-by was organised so that everyone could wish her well on the great occasion, and she was presented with gifts and flowers as people drove by. Leading the procession was a truck from the North Grenville Fire Service, and Mayor Peckford presented her with flowers on behalf of the whole municipality, residents, staff and council. In a time of restrictions, every effort was made to make sure Norma knew she was remembered and cherished. And she was.
