The Kemptville Snowmobile Klub held a special fundraising event this weekend, their Annual Poker Rally. The day began with a hearty breakfast sponsored, prepared and served by local business owners from DSI Williams Excavating, Epicure Selection and It’s Just Hair.

By the time I arrived, 70 people had already registered for the day’s events. New this year, you could ride your sled or drive your car for a chance to win great prizes in the Poker Rally. Last year’s event was cancelled due to warm weather so their back up plan for every year now is to also include a car rally. The event is open to the general public and not solely for club members. By 9 am, the club had already raised over $3,000. All proceeds will be put towards the finishing touches to their new club house.

Snowmobile Riders and teams from the car rally could also stop for the Chili lunch on the trail supplied by Leeder AgriServices. The day was topped off with an evening meal of spaghetti at the Klub house, hosted by Dundas Agra Systems. Prizes were awarded to the winners, sponsored by Motor Trendz as well as a large variety of door prizes donated by many local businesses.

Many thanks go out to all the volunteers and businesses who supported the Klub and to the trail groomers, who worked diligently throughout the week to get the trails into shape.
The new snowmobile club house is more than just a club. When completed, (with a full kitchen) they hope to make it available to the community to rent throughout the year. Feel free to like them on facebook to get more information on events or rentals. You can follow the Kemptville Snowmobile Klub on their Facebook page.
