This past Friday evening, the Oxford Mills Beavers and Cubs braved the cold and met at the dam in the hamlet in order to participate in the Mud Puppy Night. This is an on-going survey of mud puppies and other aquatic life conducted by naturalists Fred Schueler, Matt Keevil and Amanda Bennett. The boys and girls were not disappointed as 37 mud puppies were counted. Events like this fit well with Scouts Canada’s program of promoting an appreciation of the natural environment and outdoor adventure.
