A recently completed feasibility analysis by leading accounting and advisory firm BDO Canada endorses the Municipality of North Grenville vision for a re-invented Kemptville College.
The Municipality sees the renewed Kemptville College as a non-profit, multi-tenant education and community hub focused on low-carbon innovation and climate change adaptation/mitigation within the areas of agricultural, forestry and water resource management.
BDO has assessed the market for this vision and found the plan to be unique and sustainable, given the right conditions.
“This has been a very exciting and unique project,” noted Richard Mercier, partner with BDO Canada. “The vision the Municipality of North Grenville has for Kemptville College has strong market potential and sustainable financials given favourable negotiations with the Province.”
Mayor David Gordon was quoted as saying that “Council is pleased with the findings of the BDO Feasibility Assessment. We are looking forward to entering into formal negotiations with the Province for the acquisition of Kemptville College lands.”
The Municipality of North Grenville will now seek Council approval to begin negotiations with the Province of Ontario with regards to recovery of assets and the transition of ownership and operations of Kemptville College property and lands.
